Dowfrost HD inhibited propylene glycol heat transfer fluid is used in closed-loop, water-based HVAC applications. The components of this liquid help prevent corrosion in industrial equipment, giving it longer service life.
We offer Dowtherm SR-1 inhibited ethylene glycol heat transfer fluid for closed-loop, water-based HVAC and to assist with the process of heating and cooling. The make-up of the liquid results in longer fluid life, less system downtime and liquid expense reduction.
We also supply Dow Corning™ maintenance and industrial products.

Learn More About Dowfrost:
DowFrost is a heat transfer fluid that contains specially formulated containers of food grade inhibitors that assist in preventing corrosion. It is frequently used in applications where contact with beverage and food products could take place, such as in immersion freezing and fermentation cooling. Examples of suitable DowFrost uses are secondary heating and cooling, freeze and burst protection of pipes, defrosting, deicing and dehumidifying. Therefore, DowFrost is applicable for HVAC, food and pharmaceutical companies. DowFrost is produced with a pharmaceutical grade of monopropylene glycol called DOW PuraGuard Propylene Glycol USP/EP, which has a specified purity greater than 99.8 percent. The product’s recommended temperature range is from a negative 50 degrees Fahrenheit (negative 45 degrees Celsius) to 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius).
DowFrost HD heat transfer liquid is Dowfrost with a concoction of propylene glycol and a specially planned container of industrial corrosion inhibitors. The liquid is tinted with fluorescent yellow to help with leak detection. There are several suitable applications for DowFrost heat transfer liquid such as singular fluid process cooling and heating, and water based HVAC applications in which propylene glycol solutions are required or preferred. DowFrost HD heat transfer is not approved by the USDA or FDA for food use, and is not acceptable for beverage or food use. The recommended temperature for DowFrost HD heat transfer liquid ranges from a negative 50 degrees Fahrenheit (negative 45 degrees Celsius) to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (160 degrees Celsius). DowFrost and DowFrost HD heat transfer liquids are available in North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and India.
